Hello

Hello Everyone,

I am in the Boy Scouts of America, an organization focused on teaching boys leadership skills, outdoor skills, and a willingness to serve others. In scouts there are six ranks, with the highest being Eagle Scout. I am currently working to become an Eagle Scout.

One significant requirement for Eagle Scout is completing a service project for your community. For my service project, I am renovating the main room on two floors at an orphanage in the town where I live. I’ll be working in cooperation with a local youth organization. The rooms that we renovate are the areas where the kids meet and play. We are going to smooth and paint the walls and windows, and install a plastic paneled ceiling. After that, an artist who works with my dad will paint some murals on the walls with the help of some of her local students.

To do this project I need to buy materials, supplies, and tools. All of the labor will be provided by volunteers. I completed a cost estimate with the help of a local workman; the total cost came to nearly $1000 for both rooms. The youth organization was inspired by this project and would like to also repair and paint the 4 corridors on the two floors where we are working with volunteers. The cost of materials for this additional work would be $950. So any extra funds raised for my project will be used for this additional work.

To complete this project at the orphanage I am looking for people to support the work financially. If you would like to make a contribution of any amount, the easiest way to do this is through paypal at this account: rmanila@springwater7.org. Be sure to check the option “I'm sending money to family or friends” to avoid paypal fees being withdrawn from any contribution using paypal or bank funds. If you need a tax-deductible receipt or would like to send a check for the donation, I have another way to receive funds, please write to me at Dan_eagle@springwater7.org for more details. One hundred percent of any money received will be used for the improvements and assistance at the orphanage.

In order to start the project on time, I borrowed money, which is why I'm fundraising after the project has begun.
